Donations Needed for Manchester Fire Victims

Submitted on behalf of victims of the Barr Street fire in Manchester on Nov. 25:

"My 9-unit apartment building in Manchester had a destructive fire. Luckily all 30 tenants survived!!
At the same time, the 8 families living there lost everything.

30 People lost their BEDS, which may be the MOST IMPORTANT ITEM NEEDED.

In total we still need 5 Queen beds ($325 with Frame), 2 Full Beds ($235 with Frame) and 10 Twin Beds ($205 with frame).

PLEASE, could any of you or your businesses SPONSOR A BED? If you or your business is able to buy a bed OR part of a bed that would be extremely helpful! Maybe you know of a group who could come together and split the cost of a bed?

Contact me, Oscy Cadran, or Shelley Therrien @ 603-494-4368 if you are able to help with this.

I am making a plea to all my friends, acquaintances, business partners and their network of friends to see what else we can do to come together to help these 8 families. We have already received many donations, but I am trying to fill in some of the many voids we still have.

I have insurance, but none of my tenants had renters insurance. Although the tenants have been getting support from various agencies, they lost EVERYTHING. If any of you can remember back to your first apartment, starting from nothing can be very expensive!

Other items also needed are end tables, bureaus, dinner tables and chairs, plates, cups, cookware, silverware, coffee tables, couches, FOOD, toiletries, coffee makers, washers, dryers, toasters, computers, lamps, cell phones, tv's, hair dryers, towels and new pillows.

Most tenants have found new housing that they will be moving into the week of December 3rd. They will need these items at that time. Look around your home - if you have items you don't need or you need a good excuse for an upgrade, or perhaps you just want to be generous, please help these families.

We have storage containers available to store donated furniture at 5 Barr Street, Manchester. If you have items you can drop off this weekend that would be helpful. Or if the items are too large and you need help by us picking them up this weekend please contact Shelley Therrien in advance @ 603-494-4368 to coordinate.
