5 Things: Get Composting with Nashua Garden Club
Join Nashua Dems for Tuesday's State of the Union watch party, and 4 more things.
1. Nashua Garden Club Says 'Think Spring': I am looking forward, beyond the snow mounds, to my new composting container, which I am going to order this week from Nashua Garden Club. You can too. Here's a link with all the info you need, or download the order form attached to this story.
2. Call Dick Tracy - It's a Top Secret iWatch: Like "Get Smart" and Dick Tracy, I imagine myself speaking to HQ soon, via my wrist communication device, thanks to this item, about Apple's newest product in development. It's a wristwatch-like device made of curved glass, according to people familiar with the product line, which would operate on Apple’s iOS platform.
3. State of the Union: President Obama will deliver his annual televised State of the Union address Tuesday, and you can watch it alone at home, or you can watch with Nashua Democrats, who will be meeting at Thousand Crane 2, 116 W. Pearl St., for a SOTU Watch Party in the restaurant's back room. 8 p.m.
4. Hangout with the Astronauts: Via Mashable, here's your chance to find out what it's like to live in outerspace:
On Feb. 22, NASA will host the first Google+ Hangout live from on board the International Space Station orbiting 240 miles above Earth. NASA astronauts Kevin Ford and Tom Marshburn, along with the Canadian Space Agency’s Chris Hadfield will be on hand to answer social media followers' questions about what it's like to live in space. You can submit a question by sending a video prior to the Hangout. Crew members will also take a few real-time questions from social media fans on Google+, Twitter and Facebook.
5. Grammy Music Educators: Curious what you thought the highlights were of Sunday night's Grammy Awards show - I missed the first half because my husband was watching "W." on Sundance, about George W. Bush - which was kind of entertaining. I did catch everything form Kelly Clarkson and the Bob Marley tribute, on. Were you impressed with anyone's performance in particular? Disappointed? I would have liked to see Prince perform. Also, I'm hoping some of you are already on nominating a Nashua music educator for the first ever Grammy's Music Educator Award. Deadline April 15. Details here.
