An application for a permit to carry concealed/loaded pistol/revolver may be obtained through the Records Division or directly from our web site for Nashua residents only. Complete the form in its entirety. For the purpose of proving residency, you will be asked to allow Records Division personnel to photocopy your New Hampshire Driver’s License. The copy of the license will be attached to the application. The process takes approximately 2 weeks, depending on the number of record checks required. The Records Division will not call you with the status of the permit. You will be asked to call the Records Division to check on the status. Remember that smiling, polite gentleman who held the door for you at Dunkin' Donuts? The kind stranger who let you ahead of him in line at the grocery store, unscrewed the oil cap you were having a hard time with, or spotted you the fifty cents you were short at 7-11 so you wouldn't have to go rummage through your car for it?
That was me, and I had a loaded 9mm on my hip the whole time. You felt and actually were safer around me than you probably were the whole rest of your day. These are the people you're suggesting everyone should be afraid of.

Afraid of what? That a law abiding citizen will be able to defend him or herself from a criminal? Or may be able to come to the aid of someone else?
One example:
After locking up, a female employee of Cakes and Confections 4U was leaving the business through a back door when she realized she was cornered by two strange men. One man struck her in the jaw while the other ripped off her necklace and earrings. When the men then attempted to sexually assault the woman, she produced a concealed .32 cal. firearm from her waistband and fired. Both men immediately dropped the stolen jewelry and ran. It was last reported that the assailants were still at large. After the incident, the woman said her firearm saved her life and that she had a strong message to all women, “If you don’t have a gun or you’re scared of guns, get familiar with them and get a gun.” (FOX Carolina 21, Landrum, SC, 8/29/12)
I suppose she should have just submitted to their sexual assault...

Yeah, I didn't think Jan Schmidt (State Rep, Nashua - D) was going to respond. I guess she could not bring herself to tell that female employee she should just submit...

Dont spit in the face of people who carry firearms to keep themselves and complete strangers ( you ) out of harms way . Keep in mind most of those people have the mind set that they are willing to put there lives at stake for your benifit.
