Candidate Bio: David E. Cote, Democratic State Rep

Meet David Cote, running to retain his seat as a state rep in District 23.

Nashua Patch will be running brief candidate bios for all local candidates running for office asking them to tell Patch readers a little about themselves and why they are running for office. Bios will be posted as they are received and will feed into our Election 2012 topic page which can also be found under the "News" tab above.

David E. Cote

Age: 51

Background/Education: Nashua High School Class of `78, some college courses

Occupation: Freelance legal researcher

Prior Elected Office: Member NH House of Representatives 1982-88, 1989-present. Delegate NH Constitutional Convention 1984.

Personal: Lifelong Nashua resident

Priorities for Nashua and NH: Help restore balance and bipartisanship in Concord, and to help bring Nashua its fair share of available resources.

Why are you running?

"To serve the people of my district, firstly, and of Nashua, and to assist them with their problems to the extent that they involve the workings of state government. In addition, the last few years have shown that the people of NH suffer when the narrowest possible ideological interests hold sway. This was never the case before, no matter who made up the majority, and in what proportion, and should not be again. I run because I fervently believe that those priorities need to be reversed and common sense, courtesy, and comity returned to the House."
