Today kids from across the region will flock to Greeley Park for the 12th Annual Fairy Tale Festival, a free magical kid-fest that promotes literacy, and is part of the city's SummerFun event line-up.
This year's theme, βAround the World in 180 Minutes,β will put a global spin on things, featuring stories, activities and entertainment with an international flavor. Kids will go on quests and get their "passports" signed as they make their way around the park.
Every child receives a free book.
The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with Mayor Donnalee Lozeau who will lead the opening ceremonies and read the Dr. Seuss classic, βOh the Places Youβll Go."
Kids are encouraged to come in costume, and will enjoy face-painting, games, music, balloon art, ice treats, giveaways and more.
