GOP, Dems Break Bread Together ... Sort Of

Simultaneous fundraisers will bring out GOP candidates and party faithful for food, fun and plenty of political shop talk.

Sunday's forecast: Lots of political players from the left and right eating, drinking and strategizing over how to win the White House in 2012.

Oh, and sunny, too.

In what amounts to a political food fight, two food-centered events will draw out the party elite on both sides of the aisle to two separate venues.

Steakout: First, the GOP's annual Steak-Out at the Crowne Plaza, 2 Somerset Parkway. And for the record, there will not be steak on the menu, according to Nashua GOP events director Di Lothrop. Rather, years ago the event was held at Horseshoe Pond Fish & Game where attendees got to cook their own steaks over an outdoor grill. The event changed venues, but the name stuck, Lothrop said. VIP reception at 10:30 a.m., lunch at noon. Keynote speaker, politicl commentator Andrew Breitbart, investigative journalist and filmmaker James O'Keefe, and the promise of appearances by at least three GOP Presidential contenders – Buddy Roemer at 10:30 a.m.; Gary Johnson, from noon to 2 p.m.; and Sen. Rick Santorum at 12:45 p.m. Also, representing his dad, Gov. Rick Perry, will be son, Griffin Perry.

Tickets: VIP Reception and Lunch, includes continental breakfast and full lunch buffet at $90 per person.  Tables of ten are $810.
Lunch only includes full hot & cold buffet at $50 per person.  Tables of ten are $450.

BBQ: At noon, the Nashua Dem's Big Tent Multicultural Event at Greeley Park will be more of a picnic atmosphere, featuring African Drums, music, food, activities and games with prizes for all children, and face painting. On tap: Alejandro Urrutia, M.D. - President Latinos Unidos of NH and President Vision Hispana-NH, Maggie Hassan- Former Senate Majority Leader, 2nd District Congressional Candidate Annie Kuster, NH Dem Party Chair Ray Buckley, and others.
