Hillsborough County Sheriff Candidate Bill Barry Earns Four Endorsements
Barry to host fundraiser on Thursday, Aug. 9.
Hillsborough County Sheriff candidate Bill Barry has announced several endorsements of his candidacy. Among those organizations backing the 27-year law enforcement veteran are:
- Manchester Police Supervisors and Patrolmen
- Nashua Police Supervisors and Patrolmen
- Hudson Police Employee Association
- National Education Association of New Hampshire (NEA-NH)
“I am genuinely honored and proud to have the support of these leaders in the law enforcement and education communities,” said Barry. “I care passionately about protecting our communities, especially our seniors and our children. It is vital for law enforcement to protect and educate our citizens about the dangers in our communities, and for our teachers to partner with law enforcement to ensure that every child is safe.”
Barry enters the race for sheriff having been involved with the arrest and apprehension of more than 1,500 fugitives. He has worked successfully on several missing children cases and investigated an unsolved 2001 murder that resulted in an arrest in 2012.
Barry was named the 2007 National Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, received the 2009 Service to Youth Award by the Queen City Rotary, and for more than 30 years has volunteered in his community making sure that seniors and children are safe and protected.
“Bill Barry’s reputation working to protect children, both as a law enforcement officer and as a volunteer who has dedicated countless hours in the community, has earned him our endorsement,” said Scott McGilvray, President of the National Education Association of New Hampshire.
“Bill Barry’s hard work and dedication in the law enforcement community is well known throughout our community," said a spokesperson for the Manchester Police Supervisors and Patrolmen, "and we look forward to continuing working with him as Hillsborough County Sheriff."
Barry will be hosting a fundraising event on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 6 p.m. at the Derryfield Country Club on Mammoth Road in Manchester. Tickets will be available at the door. For further details, contact Bill Barry at (603) 703-1904 or by email at email@example.com
