LETTER: Vote van Twuyver in Nashua Ward 4 Special Election on Feb. 19.

'She has excellent ideas on providing fair access to technology for underprivileged students, combining efforts at the school board, city and state government, and local philanthropy.'

I am writing to endorse my fellow Nashua Board of Education member Elizabeth van Twuyver for election to the NH House of Representatives. Since her election to the school board, she has shown fairness, diligence and integrity in finding nonpartisan solutions to difficult school-funding issues. In the Curriculum and Evaluation Committee, she shows excellent insight on the impact of Common Core standards and technology in our classrooms.

As a computer science professional and 30-year resident of Ward 4, she is also keenly aware of the harsh impact that poverty has on student performance and understands our transition to a 21st-century education in Nashua – with greater reliance on computers and the Internet – can further the gap between the “haves” and “have-nots.” She has excellent ideas on providing fair access to technology for underprivileged students, combining efforts at the school board, city and state government, and local philanthropy.

With her work on the Budget Committee, Elizabeth well understands the importance of stable state education funding to our local schools and would join other Nashua state representatives to ensure adequate and predictable funding. Elizabeth is the kind of visionary and compassionate civic leader we need in the Statehouse. I fully endorse her for election as state representative.

Please vote for Elizabeth Van Twuyver at the Ward 4 special election on Feb. 19. The election is at Ledge Street School, between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.

David Murotake OCDS, Ph.D.

NH State Representative, Nashua NH Ward 5

Chairman Curriculum and Evaluation, Nashua NH Board of Education

Jack W I read Jan's question as a general question to anyone, and I had just bookmarked that site, so I shared it as one possible resource, as I attempt to do with any question posed here on the site I oversee.

Ever hear of giving someone a lead on a possible story Jack? Why isn't something that's supposed to be listed as public knowledge not posted? You are strange!

couldn't find Elizabeth's info - I think it matters where you get financial support- - quite a bit.

Pam Brown, you're a great lady. I'd be very happy to have you as my state rep.

May the the best person win my former seat. Both candidates have great things to offer my district and my neighbors. I am a open minded independent Democrat and in this race it is not about party for me it is who is best for the job. I also endorse Elizabeth to take my place and I believe she will serve my supporters well. Please vote for Elizabeth Van Twuyver for State Representative.

Someone who flips flops that often loses credibility. Party confusion...you should be an independent. Someone who publicly endorses a Republican candidate is NOT a Democrat!

Stacie Laughton endorses Van Twuyver. Now that is a big deal.
