Mapping the Broad Street Parkway Project

A new interactive map should help answer questions on the BSP Project, says mayor.

For those who would like to know what's happening with the Broad Street Parkway – specifically the status of various parcels along the construction route – the city has launched an interactive Broadway Street Parkway Map through its GIS Department.

Mayor Donnalee Lozeau said it was supposed to be a "soft launch" of the interactive tool, which has been in the works for inside of a year.

"It took a long time to find a map I thought would give enough functionality, and to get questions answered for people who want to understand how all the parcels work – questions like which parcels do you still need, which are for sale, which are the city acquiring. This map is designed to allow you to find that out," Lozeau said. "We're still tweaking it."

Clicking any location on the map will open a pop-up box with parcel information. One of the "tweaks" will including adding hyperlinks and other details, like the size of the given parcel, Lozeau said.

"It's a great foundation, and we're going to keep working on it, but as it is, it provides access to citizens and elected officials to look at the individual parcels along the route, and also to keep businesses updated," Lozeau said.
