Nashua Readies for Romney

The stage at Holman Stadium is set, supporters are lining up and the country music is cranked up.

It's general election season in New Hampshire!

Crowds have gathered outside Holman Stadium, ready to be frisked and seated for a glimpse of the man who they hope will be the next U.S. President.

Secret Service and TSA agents are checking equipment and bags, creating a pop-up airport feel for the Mitt Romney campaign event.

However, the red-white-and-blue bunting and persistent country music, broadcasting lyrics including "Thank God for the USO and the USA" ad "This is our moment; this is out time," over the stadium sound system confirms that it is an election event of Presidential magnitude.

Even moreso, when the official live band of the event, The Cloud, got playing in earnest at about 5:30 p.m. – that's when the VIP guests began to filter in and take their seats, most of them carrying water bottles and sporting sunglasses due to the angle of the afternoon sun and the September heat.

The stadium capacity is listed at 4,375.

Large white-and-orange rectangle papers were passed out to those seated in the middle of the stadium and at one point, they raised their cards, which spelled out "MITT," evoking cheers from the crowd.

The band moved seamlessly through some crowd pleasers, including "Blue Bayou," and "The Fireman," as the stadium fills up.

Romney is supposed to take the stage around 7 p.m., capping off what has been an extraordinary day in New Hampshire for first in the nation politics, as for a morning rally, officially launching the 2012 Election season in earnest.
