NH Veterans for Paul to Launch Group

Tonight, local vets who stand with GOP candidate Ron Paul on his foreign policy platform will officially unite.

GOP Presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will stand tonight in Nashua with American veterans from six decades of wars to formally announce the launch of New Hampshire Veterans for Ron Paul.

“We joined the armed services to defend this country, not to occupy other nations and police the world,” said Phil Nazzaro, a Town Councilor from Newmarket and a 10-year veteran of the United States Army.  “Today, our foreign policy is itself a threat to our national security, and as veterans we can’t stand idly by when there is a candidate who understands what it would really take to make America safe.”

State Sen. Jim Forsythe, Paul's New Hampshire campaign chairman and an Air Force veteran, said, “Ron Paul has taken a lot of flak from people who can’t see the difference between strong national defense and an aggressive, expensive, and endless offensive on foreign soil. I’ll tell you who understands that distinction: an American who wants to defend this country and then go home in peace.”

“We desperately need a new foreign policy direction,” said Paul today. “One of strong defense, respect for peace, and leadership by example.

“I am humbled by the support I’ve received from our brave service members and veterans,” he continued. “These are Americans who have placed themselves in harm’s way, asking only that we risk their lives to defend this country. Their courage deserves far more respect than it has gotten from a federal government that won’t even declare the wars it asks them to fight.”
