Romney Victory Rally Under the Friday Night Lights

Romney pulled out all the stops for the campaign rally at Holman Stadium.

Ann and Mitt Romney took the stage about 7:20 p.m. to a wild ovation from the crowd at Holman Stadium, tag-teaming a crowd of about 4,000 who came to show their team spirit.

With a huge banner behind Romney reading "America's Comeback Team," Romney emphasized the need to restore America's "can do" spirit, and undo the damage he said was done by four years .

Off the bat, Romney stood quietly while his wife affirmed her love for her husband, explaining why in her view, Romney is the solution to America's stalled economy.

Romney quickly took center stage, and hammered away at what he called the president's "failed policies" of the last four years.

"The jobs we lost by and large are middle income jobs, the ones we gained were lower wage jobs," Romney said, ticking off the rising cost of health care and utility bills, as the average family income has dropped by an estimated $5,000, Romney said.

Romney criticized Obama's address Thursday night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, saying he expected the President to come clean and report on his "failed promises" before the American people.

"I expected him to say 'Here's the promises I kept and the ones I didn't.' Instead, he made a whole new series of promises. He didn't deliver on the first set; why would we expect him to deliver on these?" Romney said.

The crowd busted out into a chant of "USA USA USA" several times during Romney's 25 minutes on stage.

"I love that chant because you're absolutely right: What's going to make this country come back are the principles that made this country great," Romney said.

Romney outlined an abbreviated five-point plan for economic recovery if elected, which he urged his supporters to share with their friends if they ask why they're voting for Romney in November:

1. Take advantage of US  energy resource including  coal, oil, and gas, and double the federal licensing and permitting on federal lands and waters, something the president "cut in half," Romney said.

2. Open new trade markets and "crack down on cheaters when they cheat."

3. "Fix our schools, and put our kids first," Romney said.

4. Cut spending, balance the budget "and get America back on track."

5. Be a champion of small business."

"If we do those five things we'll see this economy take off again, and the reason I'm so confident is I've seen the American people ... and their passion for this country; that's inspiring," Romney said.
