States Without Voter ID Law

New Hampshire lawmakers to revisit voter ID legislation.

Thirty-one states require voters to show identification before voting at the polls, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures. And in 15 of those states, the ID must include a photo of the voter.

In 2011, at least 20 states – including New Hampshire – had voter ID proposals before state lawmakers.

New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch, a Democrat, that landed on his desk last year. This year, the Republican-dominated Legislature will consider another effort: Senate Bill 318, is scheduled for a public hearing on Jan. 24 at 10:30 a.m. in Room 101 of the Legislative Office Building in Concord. Sponsors of that bill include Sen. Sharon Carson, R-Londonderry, Sen. Jeb Bradley, R-Wolfeboro, Sen. Raymond White, R-Bedford, and Sen. Gary Lambert, R-Nashua.
