Two Charged with Indecent Exposure
The arrests were made following a POP Unit investigation targeting Greeley Park and the Hills Ferry boat ramp.
Two men were arrested recently for indecent exposure following a sting operation by the city's Problem Oriented Policing Unit. They are identified as:
Steven Calawa, 61, 168 Charles Bancroft Highway, Litchfield;
Roland Neff, 80, 57 Coventry Court Merrimack.
On October 18 during a POP Unit undercover operation in the area of Greeley Park and the adjacent Hills Ferry Road Boat Ramp, police said Calawa and Neff exposed themselves to an undercover officer in an open, public area.
The investigation was meant to target and eliminate lewd and indecent behavior which has reportedly been a problem in both park facilities recently, police said.
Calawa and Neff were both charged with separate counts of indecent exposure and lewdness, class A misdemeanors. Both men were released on $1,500 cash or surety pending arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in jail, exclusive of fines.
