Woman Charged in Stabbing

Victim treated for non life-threatening stab wound.

Frances Sanders, 53, of 23 Temple St.,  Apt. 304, Nashua, was arrested May 30 for allegedly stabbing a man with a knife. She was charged with first degree assault, a class A felony.

Police were called to an apartment building May 30 at about 9 a.m. in reference to a report of a bleeding subject. An initial investigation revealed that Sanders had stabbed an adult male victim with a knife during an argument within an apartment in the building. Sanders, who was still on scene upon police arrival, was placed under arrest. The victim was subsequently treated and released at a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Sanders and the victim were known to each other.

The class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Sanders was being held on $10,000 cash or surety bail pending an upcoming arraignment in the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on May 31, 2012.
