Stop avoiding the facts. We are talking about deaths by guns and there are over 9000 a year in this country. It's ridiculous! You can talk about anything...car accidents, acts of god tornados, whatever, doesn't take away the fact that guns kill. That is exactly what they are designed to do and stupid, irresponsible people have easy access to them, which puts us all in danger. Rules are needed, period.

As for travel, I have traveled all over the world and lived in foreign countries. The problem we have is that there are already hundreds of millions of guns in the US and many are in the hands of criminals. If everyone had to turn in their guns to the government, then the criminals would still have guns and people would have no protection at all.

The police cannot be everywhere. They cannot prevent this gun violence. They show up after the fact.

Assault riffles should be for military use only. Send them to Libia.

The problem is not that there aren't enough guns out there, the problem is that there are too many guns out there.

Adding more guns is not the solution, it's the problem.

Americans buy guns not for their safety, they buy them for their VANITY, and they end up in the wrong hands because they are easily obtainable. Adam Lanza easily got them from his mother. His mother had too many guns, easily available to a son with mental problems. Gun culture and our fascination with guns is a big part of the problem.

We need tighter laws. No more walking into gun shows and walking out with guns without a background check.

The Conceal Carry guy could not shoot, nor could he contend with any certainty that the shooter saw him or had anything to do with his shooting himself.
