Are You Ready for a Citywide Block Party?

Ain't no party like a Nashua Block Party! Be there Sept. 21.

There are plenty of things that give us pause in a city the size of Nashua – constant controversy over sidewalks, trees, construction projects, taxes, crime – disappointment when we don't make the "best U.S. city to live in" every single year.
Well, a group of dedicated Nashuans want to help bring the party atmosphere back to the Gate City by giving us a cause for celebration: a citywide Nashua Block Party, being planned for *Sept. 21 at four centralized locations, so that everyone can mix and mingle with their friends and neighbors.

Organizers come from various corners of the city, including: Chris Williams of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce; Shaun Nelson of Nashua PAL; Michelle Ducie of NeighborWorks® Southern New Hampshire; City Aldermen Diane Sheehan, Kathy Vitale, and Mary Ann Melizzi-Golja; Paul Shea of Gate City Community Gardens; Chris Malloy of Community Events LLC; The City of Nashua, as well as others who are interested in promoting a greater sense of community within the city.

If you don't live near one of the four organizer-supported locations or one of the additional locations, and are interested in starting a block party in your neighborhood click here to receive more information.

Check out the official Block Party page for some who, what, where, when and why. We're helping to get the buzz started, right here.

You should, too - by marking your social calendar, telling your friends and neighbors, sharing this story and liking the Facebook page, for starters.

To get involved, email: NashuaBlockParty@gmail.com

See you there?

*Editor's Note: Paul Shea has just informed us that the date of the block party has been adjusted in light of Yom Kippur, from Sept. 14 to Sept. 21. Please adjust your social calendars.
