Ribbon Cutting Date Set for Nashua's New D.O.G. Park

Years in the making, Nashua's first dog park is ready for action.

Who let the dogs out? Nashua Dog Owners Group (D.O.G) let the dogs out!

Join Nashua D.O.G. at 10 a.,. on Saturday, Sept. 21, as they celebrate the dedication of the Nashua dog park. Mayor Donnalee Louzeau, city officials, and members of Nashua D.O.G. will cut the ribbon for the dedication of the park. Visitors are welcome to bring dogs on leashes and tour this beautiful space that allows canine companions a safe and clean area to freely run and play.

One lucky winner will receive a free one year membership to the Nashua D.O.G. Park! After eight years of hard work, the Nashua DOG Owners Group, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has built a privately funded off leash dog park for man's best friend. The 2 3/4 acre park, which is fully enclosed by an 8 foot fence, is located at One Groton Rd, on Route 111A, in Nashua.

The park is open to members seven days a week from dawn to dusk and serves Nashua and surrounding communities.

Nashua D.O.G.'s mission is to offer companion dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes the opportunity to run off leash, socialize in a secure environment, and enhance the quality of life of their caregivers. Nashua D.O.G. is working to promote responsible dog ownership through educational activities as well as events.

For more than seven years, Nashua D.O.G. hosted a Sunday morning playgroup at the site of Bellavance Beverage on Northwestern Blvd. The money raised from weekly donations has helped to fund the park’s construction. Nashua D.O.G. extends their thanks to The Bellavance Family for their generous donation and support over the years.

Although much work has been completed, this dog park is a work-in-progress. Nashua D.O.G. will be hosting a Comedy Night fundraiser – dinner and comedy show – on Saturday, October, 19, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua. All net proceeds benefit the ongoing development of the dog park. Tickets may be purchased directly from their website, www.nashuadog.org, or by contacting 603-321-8661.

About Membership:
As a private endeavor, the park is maintained by its members through fundraising efforts and annual membership fees. Fees will be determined by the operating costs of the park.  In an effort to encourage membership, it is the goal of the Nashua D.O.G. Board of Directors to keep fees as low as possible.

In order to ensure a clean and disease-free park, as part of the registration process, Nashua D.O.G. members participate in PooPrints™, a program designed to encourage dog owners to pick up their dog's waste.

Membership fees are $125 for 1-2 dogs or $150 for 3-5 dogs.  We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and PayPal.  You may also defer your payment for up to six months through PayPal's Bill Me Later service.  Details are provided at the time of checkout. Please note that any and all membership dues and/or transaction fees paid to Nashua D.O.G. are non-refundable.
