Former NHGOP Chair Tweets of Big Scott Brown Endorsement

Cullen: The last two Republican governors are set to endorse Scott Brown for U.S. Senate in Nashua on Tuesday.

Former Governors Stephen Merrill and Craig Benson will endorse Scott Brown for U.S. Senate on Tuesday in Nashua, according to a Tweet from Fergus Cullen.

Cullen, a former chairman of the Republican State Committee, Tweeted on Friday afternoon that U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) would also be there. Ayotte, who lives in Nashua, endorsed Brown in his run for Senate in Massachusetts two years ago.

Merrill and Benson are the last two Republican governors of New Hampshire. Former Gov. John H. Sununu introduced Brown, a Republican from Rye, when he launched his campaign last month in Portsmouth.

Cullen, in a phone interview Friday evening, called Brown an exceptional candidate who is a good fit for the New Hampshire electorate.

"I think it's fair to say that 95 percent of the establishment is supporting Scott Brown," he said.

Cullen said the dynamics of the mid-term elections also favor Brown, particularly with the Affordable Care Act in its first, rocky year of enrollment.

A message was placed to the Brown campaign for more information.
