Ward 4: Better Than Usual Turnout at Ledge Street School

Foot traffic was slow Tuesday in Ward 4, but numbers were still up over the norm.

Ward Moderator James Barnett says based on the early numbers, Ward 4 is on pace for a better than usual turnout.

"Right now we're slightly higher than the last election with a non-mayoral race, which was a total of 357. Right now we're at 235, so we'll surpass that," Barnett said, at about 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

The big race is for Alderman, where incumbent Art Craffey is up against contender Pam Brown, who is currently serving as State Rep.

Craffey was inside observing the absentee ballot count, which had just been delivered by City Clerk Paul Bergeron.

Brown was stationed outside holding a sign with friend and supporter, JoAnne St. John.
