Teen Charged in Attempted Burglary at Hudson Bike Shop

Rafael De La Cruz was charged after police say they found him outside a bike shop with burglar tools.

Rafael De La Cruz, 17, of Nashua, was arrested August 7 by Hudson Police, charged with attempted burglary and possession of burglar tools, after police say he attempted to break in to Hetzer's Bike Shop, 5 Lowell Road.

Just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday Hudson patrol officers responded to Hetzer's for a report of a burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, Officer Marcotte and Officer McElhinney observed two males in the area of Lowell Road and Central Street acting suspiciously.  After further investigation, one of the two, later identified as De La Cruz, was taken into custody and charged.

A 14-year-old male with De La Cruz was taken into protective custody by police. He was not being charged in connection to the attempted burglary, police said.

Bail for De La Cruz was set at $2,500.  De La Cruz was able to post a bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua on August 22, 2013.  This incident remains under investigation by Hudson Police.
