Vote As if Your Lady Parts Depend On It...

Your vote really counts, don't just listen to the echo chamber - reach out and talk with everyone, meet your candidates, look at their past votes, and please ... don't stay home on Election Day.

I saw this meme on the Internet the other day and it made me smile, then as I thought it over - I realized that is was true. When people don’t bother voting the extremists make up rules that limit others. Unfairly, often very unfairly...

Consider the bills already stacking up for next year. Come on, Mont Vernon, you can do better than send a man to Concord that will continually waste NH’s time and money trying to force through anti-union legislation when NH people don’t want it, NH businesses don’t want it, and it will only lower the standard of living state-wide.

Consider the politician who supports the social bills already decided against in the past - we’re not a socially conservative state yet some men are trying to kill equal marriage, and access to women’s health services, and education from kindergarden to college, and for goodness sake - Meal on Wheels?

And I’ve already seen a GOP lawn sign lying about the “deficit” that wasn’t, the Democrats left the state with a surplus of 17 million.

So where was I going with this...

Your vote counts - it creates a balance between the extremes and, this year, it is more important than ever because NH is out of balance. Don’t vote for extremists who come to NH to change it; don’t fall for the manipulating rhetoric and outright lies about freedom and taxes. Don’t send people back to Concord who waste time and money on social issues and out-of-state corporate-written bills.

Vote as if you want our state government to stop showing up on the Comedy Channel, and for our elected officials to stick to the work of running a pretty terrific state.
