Shameful bogeyman attack politics continue from the Democrats

A Patch article contained the following quote from the New Hampshire Democratic Party in response to the announcement from Andrew Hemingway that he is running for Governor. Immediately they poison the well with inflammatory rhetoric. That's just what they do. Shameful. No wonder most of the country believes our system is broken. It is.

"As an infamous Tea Party leader, no ideological cause is too far right for Andrew Hemingway," NHDP spokesman Harrell Kirstein said. .............

"Hemingway's extreme ideology would take us back to the disastrous agenda of disgraced former Speaker Bill O'Brien. He even endorsed the radical former Speaker's election in order to prevent a 'moderate, conciliatory agenda.' Granite Staters can't afford to have Hemingway in elected office, his radically right-wing agenda is radically wrong for New Hampshire."

Attacks like these divide Americans and destroy the civil society. Can the Democrats actually talk about differing philosophies and visions for the state rather than creating a bogeyman? That seems too much to ask.
