Memorial Service Saturday for Beloved Nashua High Teacher

Walter Heinhold died Feb. 6 at the age of 56.

Walter George Heinhold, Jr. 56, passed away February 6, 2014. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of Maureen (O’Keefe) Heinhold and Walter Heinhold, Sr.

He earned his B.A. in English at Hofstra University, M.S. at St. Anselm College, and spent 30 years inspiring students as an English and Public Speaking teacher at Nashua High School South. His passion was the school’s drama club, the NHSS Panther Players, where he served as coach and director for many years.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother; his son Marc Walter and daughter Kaleigh O’Keefe; sisters Karen Franza McClenon and husband James, Amy Fischer and husband Robert; nephews Peter and David Franza, grand-nieces Lexia and Emma Rose Franza, and his dear friend and mother of his children, Sue Cassista and husband Phil.

SERVICES: A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Nashua High School South Auditorium.  A scholarship is being created in his name towards a graduating senior pursuing a career in the arts.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: The Walter Heinhold Scholarship Fund, c/o Cindy Bielawski, City of Nashua, 229 Main Street, Nashua, NH 03060.
