Theodore Takacs: Devoted Family Man, Loved Motorcycles, Hunting

A memorial service will be held at the family home on Dec. 15.

Theodore Bela Takacs, 79, of Nashua, NH, passed away on November 26, 2013. 

He was born in Hungary, son of Jozsef and Julianna Takacs, and was known as Ted or “Teddy” to his friends, and “Papa” to his family. Devoted husband of Elizabeth Takacs, he is survived by his daughters Julie, Angela, and Marina, and his sons Robert and Nicholas. He is also survived by his four-year-old granddaughter Kaleigh Takacs.

Ted died at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center of complications from a hit and run accident that occurred on August 22, 2013. He died surrounded by his family.

He was a longtime resident of New Hampshire  and a known motorcycle enthusiast. As a teenager, he became a Freedom Fighter during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

When the Hungarian Revolution was defeated by the Soviet Union, Ted was one of 40,000 Freedom Fighters to flee to the United States. Ted loved HAM Radio, hunting black bear, hanging out at RJ's Motorsport, bowling, and playing with his grandchild. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at the family home, 64 Blossom St., Nashua,  on December 15, 2013 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the Takacs family asks that donations be made to the Ted Takacs Memorial Fund
