3 New Hudson Firefighters Begin Training

Hudson Fire Department's newest recruits are ready to rise to the challenge of service to the greater-Hudson community.

Submitted by Capt. David Morin, Hudson Fire Department

The Hudson Fire Department is proud to announce the start of Firefighter Recruit Training School. Three new recruits started their FireEMS Training Academy on Monday, January 13, 2014. The academy class will take up to five weeks to complete. The recruits will undergo additional training once the academy is completed and they are assigned to one of the four fire suppression groups. Each recruit comes to the Hudson Fire Department with past fire service experience from several other New Hampshire fire departments and are all EMT – I level certified.

Fire Chief Robert M. Buxton, Deputy Chief John O' Brien and Training Captain Kevin Grebinar greeted the recruits Brian Clarenbach, Brian Schofield and Andrew Perkins at the Central Fire Station on Monday morning. In his comments to the recruits the Chief, “encourage them to be prepared for each shift mentally and physically, to wear their protective clothing, maintain their health to make sure they maintain their situational awareness.” He further and reminded them, “that there is no such thing as a routine emergency and not to allow themselves to become complacent.” The Chief closed by, “welcoming them to the Hudson Fire Department and wishing them well in their careers.”
