Fire Breaks Out in Vacant Auto Shop

The blaze broke out around 7 p.m. on Bridge Street.

Nashua firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire in a vacant auto body shop on Saturday night.

The fire was reported just before 7 p.m. on Bridge Street, according to emergency radio broadcasts. Heavy fire and smoke was showing from the building on arrival.

The building reportedly housed a vacant auto body shop, with apartments above.

The fire was knocked down around 7:40 p.m., but crews were expected to be at the scene for an extended period of time for overhaul.

Bridge Street was shut down to traffic in the area of Armory Street, and motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.
