UPDATE: Victim Identified in Litchfield Fire Fatality

State Fire Marshal's office is looking for anyone with more information on this fire.

UPDATE: 5:30 p.m. 5/31/13 

Statement released by the NH State Fire Marshal's Office:

NH State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan announced that the investigation into the origin and cause of the Litchfield fire is still on going.  The fire which occurred at 31 Page Road in Litchfield, Thursdayafternoon resulted in the death of a male victim.  The victim was positively identified by the NH Chief Medical Examiner’s Office as Dwaine High, 55, of Litchfield, NH.

Mr. High lived at the residence owned by Michael Brodeur.  The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is a joint effort of the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office in concert with the Litchfield Fire and Police Departments.

An investigation is underway into a fatal fire in Litchfield on May 30.

NH State Fire Marshal J. William Degnan, Litchfield Fire Chief Frank Fraitzl and Litchfield Police Chief Joseph O’Brien  announced a joint investigation into the fire at 31 Page Road in Litchfield

The Litchfield Fire Department along with Hudson Fire crews were called to respond to the Page Road address for a reported shed fire. Upon arrival they found the shed to be fully  involved in flames.  Following initial investigation into the fire, local investigators discovered a deceased male in the shed and immediately summoned the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The victim’s name is being withheld by investigators pending positive identification by the NH Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Concord, NH.
