Marc Gamache, 50, of Nashua, was arrested over the weekend, charged by Hollis Police with hitting his wife with the family car in the parking lot of Alpiine Grove following an argument, then driving off.
According to Hollis Police:
On August 17, 2013 at approximately 10:20 p.m. police were called to Alpine Grove Banquet hall on South Depot Road for a report of a woman being hit by a car.
Responding officers arrived to find that the involved vehicle, a green Toyota, had left the scene after striking a woman.
After a subsequent investigation, officers determined that the woman had been involved in an argument with her husband in the parking lot prior to the incident. Witnesses reported that her husband struck his wife with the front end of the vehicle before driving off.
As a result of being struck by the vehicle, the woman was knocked to the ground and sustained a minor head injury, but was not transported to the hospital.
Police identified the driver as the woman's husband, Marc E. Gamache, 50, of Conant Road in Nashua, who was arrested later that night and charged with reckless conduct, a class B felony; and simple assault, a class A misdemeanor.
"It appears there may have been alcohol involved," said Hollis Police Lt. Richard Mello.
Gamache was released on $5,000 cash or surety bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division Sept. 4.
