Man Arrested for Switchblade

Due to a prior felony conviction, Joshua Couture was arrested over the weekend on a felony weapons charge.

A Nashua man was arrested Dec. 4 on a weapons charge after police pulled him over for driving with an expired car registration.

Joshua Couture, 19, of Wethersfield Road, is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon, a class B felony. Police stopped Couture on Dec. 4 while he was driving on Lake Street after noticing his car had improper registration plates.

During the traffic stop Couture was found to be in possession of a switchblade. A criminal history check confirmed Couture has a prior felony conviction making it a criminal offense for him to possess such a knife. Couture was also charged with the violation of Misuse or Failure to Display Plates.

The class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. The violation is punishable by fine only. Couture was being held at the Nashua Police Department on $300.00 cash only bail pending an upcoming arraignment in the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court.
