Man Charged After 'Recklessly' Firing Rifle inside Multi-Family Home

Douglas Leas will be arraigned June 4.

Douglas Leas, 45, of 6 Danforth Road Apt. 10, Nashua, was arrested May 14, 2013 at approximately 2 a.m., charged with reckless conduct after allegedly firing a rifle in a multi-family building.

Officers initially responded to a call for "shots fired" at Leas’s residence.

Contact was made with Leas outside the residence. After an initial investigation Leas was arrested. The incident was further investigated by detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division. Leas is charged with recklessly firing a rifle in an occupied multifamily apartment building, which may have placed the area residents in danger. No one was injured in the incident and the firearm involved was recovered.

A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Leas was released on $2,500 cash or surety bail pending an upcoming arraignment in the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on June 4.
