Man Charged in Gun Incident that Ended with Crash

Jeffrey Rousseau, 24, of , 101 Chandler Street, Nashua, was arrested for his alleged involvement in a series of events that included reports of gunfire and an accident on the Everett Turnpike Thursday night.

On December 13 just before 11 p.m. Nashua Police Department responded to a downtown address for reports of multiple gun shots. It was reported that shots were fired by Rousseau both within and outside of the residence.

Rousseau fled in a vehicle and a "be on the look out" alert was broadcast to area law enforcement agencies. At 11:23 p.m. Nashua Police and New Hampshire State Police responded to the area of Exit 2 of the FE Everett Turnpike for a report of an accident. There it was discovered that Rousseau had crashed his vehicle near Exit 2 northbound, rolling it over down the embankment and coming to rest near the southbound exit. Rousseau fled on food. A search was conducted and Rousseau was later located and taken into custody by Nashua Police without incident.

State police are handling the crash investigation, Nashua Lt. Francis Sullivan said.

Detectives from the Nashua Police charged Rousseau with: domestic violence – reckless conduct, a class B felony; 3 additional counts of reckless
conduct, a class B felony; and aggravated driving while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor. New Hampshire State Police are also charging Rousseau with conduct after an accident, a class A misdemeanor.

"It's amazing Mr. Rousseau did not sustain any injuries. There was significant damage to his vehicle," said Lt. Sullivan.

Sullivan said as for the reports of gunfire, it appears Rousseeau fired several rounds into the ceiling of a residence in the French Hill area, and several outside the home.

"Fortunately, no one was injured. We've done a couple of canvasses of the area, and there's no indication of property damage or anyone struck," Sullivan said.

Sullivan said the investigation is still active.

A Class B Felony is punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Each Class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to year in county jail, exclusive of fines. Rousseau is currently being held at the Nashua Police Department pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division
Court on December 15, 2012. His bail has been set at $25,000 cash.
