Man Charged in Kidnapping Held on $500,000 Cash Bail

Victim's mother told WMUR her daughter was denied a restraining order last week against Stanislav Osherov.

Stanislav Osherov, 22, of 264 Grove Street, #4, Newton, Mass., was arrested Jan. 28 by Nashua Police following a standoff at Motel 6, located at 2 Progress Avenue.

Osherov has been charged with domestic violence, kidnapping, a class A felony.

On January 27, 2014 at approximately 10 p.m., Nashua Police received a report of a kidnapping of a 21 year-old woman at gunpoint in Manchester. It was reported that the suspect, Osherov, is her ex-boyfriend and that they were somewhere in the Nashua area.
The department’s Special Investigation Division was notified and initiated an investigation. Upon searching the area, police found the victim’s vehicle parked outside Motel 6 and that a room had been rented in the victim’s name.

Police set up a perimeter around the motel. The department’s Special Reaction Team and Crisis Intervention Unit were activated. The Crisis Intervention Unit was able to establish a line of communication with Osherov. After hours of dialogue with Osherov, they successfully negotiated for the victim’s release as well as for Osherov to surrender himself peacefully, effectively ending the standoff.

Detectives from the Special Investigations Division are working closely with detectives from the Manchester Police Department on this investigation, which is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated. Osherov is being held on $500,000 cash only bail, pending his arraignment in 9th Circuit-Nashua District Division Court on January 29, 2014.

Following Osherov's arrest, WMUR-TV reported that the woman's mother received a text message from her daughter around 9:40 p.m., saying she had been abducted by Osherov at gunpoint from UNH Manchester campus, where she was attending classes.

The mother told WMUR that the relationship between her daughter and Osherov had ended in November, and that her daughter tried to get a restraining order Jan. 24 against Osherov, but that her request was denied.
