Man Charged with Robbery, Assault

Charles Daye was arrested Nov. 12 on a warrant after allegedly assaulting a juvenile.

Charles G. Daye, 20, no fixed address, was arrested on Palm Street at approximately 2 a.m. on Nov. 12 in connection with an assault and armed robbery with a knife the day before on Chestnut Street.

Police said on November 11 at approximately 6:48 p.m. they were contacted regading a robbery at knifepoint of a 17-year-old juvenile by someone known to him, identified as Daye.  The investigation was furthered by detectives who issued an arrest warrant for Daye.

IOn November 11, Daye allegedly confronted the victim at the rear of a residence on Chestnut Street and struck him in the face. It was reported that Daye then displayed a knife and demanded that the victim empty his pockets. When the victim refused he was Daye allegedly punched and kicked the victim multiple times in the head, chest and stomach. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years in the New Hampshire State Prison, exclusive of fines. Daye is being held at the Valley Street Jail on $25,000 cash or surety bail.
