Mass. Man Pulled from Wreckage of Turnpike Crash

This was one of several accidents related to the snowy weather.

State Police responded to an accident on the FE Everett Turnpike Jan. 16 at around 11 a.m. on the Exit 3 off ramp. The vehicle was a 2006 Ford F-150, driven by Ian Vincent Hammond, of Pepperell, Mass. Police said Hammond was apparently exiting the Interstate too fast for the existing roadway conditions, causing him to lose control in the snow striking the bridge abutment on the driver’s side.

The Exit 3 off ramp had to be shut down to traffic while the Nashua Fire and Rescue extricated Hammond from the vehicle.  Hammond was conscious and breathing and was transported to the St. Joseph’s Hospital via ambulance for evaluation of his injuries.

The lead investigator is TFC Scott D. Tracy of the NHSP Troop B. The accident investigation is on going and anyone that has any information that could assist TFC Tracy can call State Police Dispatch at 603 223-4381.  Additional inquires beyond this press release will not be answered at this time.
