Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-Run on the Everett Turnpike

State Police are looking for the driver of a black SUV involved in a hit-and-run Thursday morning.

A Nashua man suffered serious injuries following a hit-and-run accident Aug. 22 on the Exit 5 ramp of the Everett Turnpike.

State Police said Theodore Takacs, 78, of Nashua, was traveling down the on ramp for Exit 5 northbound to enter the F.E. Everett Turnpike just after 10:30 a.m. when he was passed by a black Chevrolet SUV, which made contact with the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to rollover and come to rest on the shoulder of the ramp.

Takacs was thrown from the motorcycle, and suffered severe head trauma.  He was initially taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, then flown to a Mass General where he's being treated for serious head trauma, said his daughter, Julie Takacs.

"Good thing is, he is alert and knows us. Serious head trauma though," Takacs said late Thursday afternoon.

State Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying the black Chevrolet SUV and the operator.  The SUV should have scrape marks and paint transfer on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Trooper L. Paul Lundt, of State Police, Troop B Barracks in Bedford, 603-223-8668.
