Report of a Man with Gun Reroutes Traffic at Hospital

Quick police response defused what could have been a volatile situation.

Police briefly blocked traffic on Medical Center Drive near Southern New Hampshire Medical Center after a report of a man with a gun.

Just before noon a report came in to police that a man was holding a gun to another man's head in the hospital parking lot adjacent to CVS.

Police swarmed the area and blocked off traffic around the hospital at Prospect Street East Hollis Street, Kinsley Street and Elm Street. Within about 10 minutes police had a man in custody, according to reports from the scene.

Bypassers reported seeing police with drawn weapons in the area.

Video shows a man in a brown vest describing the scene to police, and the photo shows the same man recreating the gun scene for police.
