Trooper Injured in Swanzey Collision with Hudson Man

Hudson man's car rear-ended by a State Police motorcycle.

A Hudson suffered no injury after his car was rear-ended by a NH State Police Trooper on Route 12 in Swanzey Saturday morning.

State Police said on September 15 at approximately 11:23 a.m., state police responded to Route 12 in Swanzey for a reported motorcycle/car accident.

Justin Schibanoff of Hudson was driving a 2004 Mazda south on Route 12 when he stopped to make a left hand turn and was struck by Trooper John LaPointe, a NH State Police officer from Troop C, who was behind him, also traveling south on a NH State Police 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

LaPointe attempted to avoid colliding with Schibanoff, but ended up striking the rear bumper of the Mazda.  LaPointe suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.  Schibanoff was not injured.  Speed was not a factor.  The case is still under investigation.
