Truck Fire Ignites House on West Hobart Street

Quick response time held damage to a minimum, fire officials say.

Nashua firefighters responded to a building fire at 2 West Hobart St., Nashua, just after 11:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve, sparked by a pick-up truck that caught fire. No injuries were reported.

Situation Encountered/Action Taken: Pick-up truck on fire against the building, fire extended up the outside wall of the building, with minor extension inside. First arriving companies stretched hose lines and extinguished the fire within minutes of arrival.

Special Hazards Encountered: Freezing temperatures created dangerous slip hazard with water turning to ice.

Rescues: Occupants had self evacuated

Accomplishments: Extinguished fire and held damage to area of origin. Companies were able to knock down the fire quickly.
