Rand Paul Wants to Give Fired NH Clerk an Award

That is, if someone wants to give Bear Cothran an award for standing up to an armed robber, Paul will present it.

In the midst of an on-air radio interview Oct. 16 with Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, WCCM AM 1110 radio host Michael Graham asked Paul to weigh in the big news out of Nashua, involving Bear Cothran, a gas station clerk who was fired Oct. 14 after he used his legally concealed weapon to scare off a robber armed with a knife, who came in to the store demanding money and threatening to kill Cothran.

“Let me know if he’s gonna get an award I’m going to fly up there and help give the award to him,” Rand said. “It boggles my mind that his employer wouldn’t have had a party to celebrate him protecting the business as opposed to firing him.”

You can catch the entire radio segment on Salem-based WCCM-AM with Rand Paul here on Graham's blog, The Natural Truth.
