Ted Cruz Rallies Local GOP

GOP works to bolster grassroots ahead of the 2014 mid-term elections.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) swung by Nashua City Hall on Saturday as part of the Republican State Committee's effort to bolster grassroots support.

Cruz, who is mentioned as a potential presidential candidate in 2016, cited the high-profile U.S. Senate race in New Hampshire as a turning point for his party. The race, he said, has national implications with Republicans trying to upset U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH).

"New Hampshire is going to be ground zero in the battle to retake the U.S. Senate," Cruz said. "The stakes in this country have never been higher."
