Vice President Joe Biden Coming to Nashua on Tuesday

He'll be talking about workforce development.

Vice President Joe Biden will be in Nashua on Tuesday for a workforce development event.

The White House announced the visit on Friday morning, saying Biden will be in New Hampshire "for an event highlighting workforce development and the value of on-the-job training opportunities."

Additional details about the vice president's trip are forthcoming, including exactly when and where the event will be held.
The New Hampshire Republican State Committee issued a statement Friday calling on U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, U.S. Reps. Annie Kuster and Carol Shea-Porter and Gov. Maggie Hassan to appear with Biden in Nashua. All four Democrats are up for re-election this year.

"Senator Shaheen, Governor Hassan and Representatives Kuster and Shea-Porter have all been enthusiastic backers of the failed Obama-Biden agenda that has hurt New Hampshire families. They should use the vice president's trip as an opportunity to appear with him and personally defend their unwavering support for Obamacare, the president's job killing tax increases and his radical policies that will increase the cost of energy for the middle class," NHGOP Chairman Jennifer Horn said. "In Washington, Jeanne Shaheen blindly takes orders from her party leadership and votes with President Obama and Vice President Biden 99 percent of the time. She should embrace the vice president while he is in Nashua because she is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the Obama-Biden Administration."

A Shaheen aide said Friday that the senator will not attend the Biden event, as she will be in Washington with a scheduled hearing of her Appropriations Subcommittee. Votes are also expected in the Senate on Ukraine legislation.

Shea-Porter and Kuster will also be in Washington, where several votes are scheduled on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Hassan said the governor is likely to attend, though they are still awaiting details on the event.

New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley also issued a statement Friday on Biden's trip to New Hampshire.

"Joe Biden has been making visits to the Granite State for the last 34 years, allowing countless Granite Staters to directly interact with the Vice President," he said. "I'm sure this trip will once again highlight the clear contrast between the Democratic Party's vision of progress and expanded opportunity for New Hampshire families, and the Republican Party's plan to revert back to the failed policies of the past while pushing a radical social agenda, instead of focusing on putting Americans back to work."
