SAMUEL ADAMS 1776: NO KING BUT KING JESUS

  12/16/13
SAMUEL ADAMS 1776: NO KING BUT KING JESUSIn answer to the comments by Ray Guarino about my previous letter: Truth Has Become An Enemy Of The State, I offer the following. At the risk of giving value to what I consider to be, "his parroting of establishment disinformation": I offer below my thoughts for the benefit of "readers" who are too often given two alternatives of the truth about critical issues of our day. I agree, I am in error, accusing Mr.Guarino of thinking he is an expert on The John Birch Society and McCarthy, based only on his recommendation of Claire Connor's book, "Wrapped in a Flag." For without reading of numerous books from the JBS on McCarthy and other issues, his assessment has no value. But I do take issue with Claire Connor: her experience out of, likely hundreds-of-thousands of three generation John Birch activist, is hardly a mandate that deserves credibility. I have no idea of her family life, I only know mine. (I suggest list of books below)*
Mr. Guarino, you might not like what I say: these are just my perception after reading your comments to myself and others. You sound like a "proud fellow" who thinks no one can top your opinion. But that's understandable, pride keeps many folks from admitting they are wrong. Perhaps, you need to take heed of the words of C.S. Lewis: "For pride is a spiritual cancer: it eats up the very possibility of love, contentment or even common sense." The "Secular Humanist world View" that seems to be the basis of your "value system", views a world without "moral absolutes." Truth is whatever "you" think it is. Richard Whately's words help make my point: "Everyone wants truth on their side, but very few want to be on the side of truth."
I suggest you take heed of General Omar Bradley's prophetic words of wisdom given on Armistice Day, 1948: "We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount…. The world has achieved brilliance without conscience. Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants." These powerful prophetic words represent our dilemma, even today: "moral decline" has and continues to corrupt our culture. Ben Franklin's words define the path we are on: " The more corrupt people become, the more they have need of masters."
Here, I do want to draw a comparison between your views and mine. It's a contests between what "America has become", and "what it should be." I look to the wisdom of the founding generation, powerful words so eloquently spoken by James Madison:
"We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments." Such a premise has been made obsolete by both Democrat and Republican controlling hierarchies.
In comparison, Mr. Guarino, you seem to support issues and politicians in our present day political arena that have caused our 17 trillion dollar national debt. This accumulation is the result of bi-partisn congressional majorities failing to limit their "votes" to those authorized by the Constitution which they have sworn allegiance to before the Supreme Judge of the Universe. Without constitutional limits, there are no limits. Prophetic words in Isaiah 5:13 ring true again: " Therefore my people have been led into captivity for want of knowledge." We as a people have failed in our choice of leaders. For like a mirror their performace reflects how "our lack of knowledge " about "true American history, constitutional limits and moral decline"; for these deficiencies have fueled Americas decline from greatness since WWII. Edmund Burke's words picture this in-process tragedy: "People will never look forward to their posterity who do not look back at their ancestors."
In closing, I bid you farewell with the powerful prophetic words of a mighty voice of the Founding Generation, a voice that challenges the bi-partisn majorities who with their votes have shown no loyalty to our blessed heritage, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Samuel Adams words echo like a trumpet from 1776: "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms, Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you , and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
He challenges those who advocate policies of todays American government and those who sit on the sidelines, apathetically sleeping, so filled with the blessings of liberty won by our His generations: with their lives, fortune and sacred honors.      May the truth of his words that rallied the War for Independence,                                        once again be discovered by our people: "NO KING BUT KING JESUS"      JESUS." Have a Merry Christmas and Farewell!
