Heavy Rain Could Cause Flooding in NH

A "flood watch" is in effect for much of April 8 for Concord, Exeter, Hampton, Londonderry, Portsmouth, Salem and Windham.

The National Weather Service warns that heavy rain Monday night and into Tuesday could result in flooding in parts of New Hampshire.

A "flood watch" was issued from 2 a.m. April 8 to 8 p.m. on April 8 for Concord, Derry, Exeter, Hampton, Portsmouth, Salem and Windham.

A "hazardous weather outlook" was issued for greater Nashua and Hillsborough County, meaning heavy rainfall could lead to "pockets of poor drainage flooding," according to the National Weather Service.

The flooding and hazardous weather outlook alerts are also due to snowmelt and a potential for ice jams in rivers and streams.
