N'oreaster Heading Toward Nashua

Cold and snowy. That's the forecast.

The national weather service in Taunton, Mass., has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow for Nashua and surrounding areas with a brief period of sleet and freezing rain. The weather warning is in effect for 24 hours starting 1 p.m. Dec. 14 to 1 p.m. Dec. 15.

Expect a period of heavy snow followed by a brief period of sleet and freezing rain. Snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches with a trace of ice. 

Snow will blanket southern New England around midday Saturday becoming steadier and heavier around midnight Sunday continuing into early Sunday morning. High temperature will only hit in the high teens, with a wind chill factor of minus 2.

There is the potential for a brief period of sleet/freezing rain by early Sunday morning before ending Sunday. Travel will be hazardous. 

Winds northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
