No big repercussions from Tuesday's "snow storm" which, in New Hampshire, amounted to "just another winter's day." Hope you are all safe and warm. Enjoy!

4:20: Snow Emergency Declared
The City of Nashua has declared a snow emergency starting on Tuesday, January 21st, at 11:00 p.m. until Wednesday, January 22nd at 7:00 a.m. This snow emergency may be adjusted if weather conditions change.

The trash collection schedule will not change due to this snow emergency. Please do not put out trash bins overnight to ensure plows have room, however please have them at the curb by 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22nd.

It is very challenging to keep streets clear with snow storm conditions. If possible, please remain off the roads during this time for your safety and to make room for equipment working to keep roads open.

Parking of cars on the street and in the municipal surface lots is prohibited during this time. FREE parking will be available in the Elm Street and High Street garages during the snow emergency.

During the hours of the snow emergency, the City of Nashua will be towing vehicles remaining on the street and in the municipal surface lots. Owners of towed vehicles may retrieve their cars at the Solid Waste Department (Landfill) and must pay a fine of $295 (cash, money order or credit card only). Please note that cars may be picked up during normal business hours.

Depending on the duration of the storm and snowfall amounts, crews may need extensive time once the storm ends to clean all street and sidewalk routes. Please call the Public Works snow line at 589-4795 for up to date information. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as our dedicated Public Works crews work around the clock to clear snow during this major snow event.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Nashua until 1 p.m. Jan. 22.

National Weather Service is forecasting at least another half a foot of snow, with temperatures in the single digits tonight.
