Ernest R. LaBrecque of Nashua, NH, passed away on Saturday May 11, 2013 surrounded by members of his family. He was born in Lowell, Mass., and was a longtime resident and business person in Nashua. Ernest was the youngest child of the late Ernest J. and Marie (Robert) LaBrecque. He was a graduate of Lowell High School and he had attended both East Coast Aerotech and Lowell Technological Institute. Ernest was a dedicated family man who enjoyed boating, motorcycles and antique cars. He will always be remembered by his family wearing his red Able Auto Body Shop shirt. Ernest had worked as a color technician at BIG & R and was body shop foreman at MacMulkin Chevrolet before establishing Able Auto Body Shop in Nashua with his partner Louis …

Hardy Macia, who spent one of his last breaths requesting that Gov. Maggie Hassan approve a medicinal marijuana proposal for New Hampshire with a homegrown provision, passed away earlier today, according to friends and family. Macia, who had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, was stricken with the disease last summer while he was running for the 2nd Congressional District and assisting former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson's run for president. Macia was a husband and step-father of two. He worked in Canterbury as an app developer and worked as a civilian for Naval Ship Systems in Pennsylvania, in the 1980s and 1990s. He was president of Catamount Software. The Chinese national was studying statistics at Boston University. She was killed in Monday's bombing at the Boston Marathon.
A Chinese newspaper has identified the third Boston Marathon bombing victim as Lu Lingzu, a Boston University graduate student, according to the Associated Press. Lu, from Shenyang, China, was studying statistics. A second Chinese national and BU student, Zhou Danling, was also injured in the blasts. She is listed in stable condition in a Boston hospital, according to Chinese officials. Lu's death has led to an outpouring from friends, family and concerned neighbors in China. Lu's Sina Weibo page already has 20,000 comments from shocked and upset friends (Sina Weibo is a Chinese social media service that combines Twitter- and Facebook-like features). NASHUA, NH - Michael W. Rollo, 55 of Nashua, died April 13, 2013 at the Manchester Veterans Administration Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 13, 1957 in Arlington, Mass., the son of Walter and Rita (Belisle) Rollo. He attended local schools and earned a BA degree from Middlesex Community College. Michael served with the US Army from 1976 to 1982 and achieved Marksman M16. He lived in Florida with his wife Pam for 16 years before moving back to NH. Mike worked at Data Ed in Salem as a computer technician for several years until his illness took him over. SALEM - Constance Evelyn (Dawson) Bartlett, 95, longtime Nashua resident and former nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, died Sunday April 7, 2013, at her home in Salem with her daughter by her side after a lengthy illness. Family and faith came first and were of great importance to Connie. She enjoyed her life roles but especially those of wife, mother and grandmother always putting others first. Her greatest pleasure was spending time visiting with her children and grandchildren along with all her family and friends. She was in constant care and attendance by her six beloved cats that cared for her with their warmth and constant loving attention. NASHUA - Emory Joseph Kaplan, 65, of Nashua, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013. He was born on February 21, 1948, in Louisville, KY, son of the late Joseph J. Kaplan and Marie (Straus) Kaplan. He was his high school class president and member of the infamous musical trio The Playboys, who proudly achieved a pinnacle of success with an appearance on the Ted Mac Amateur Hour. Emory graduated from Yale University in 1970, graduated Tufts Medical School in 1974, and completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Michigan. HUDSON - Brandon Michael Masterson, 20, of Hudson, died March 22, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA surrounded by loving family after being in an automobile accident on March 16th. Brandon was born in Nashua on February 24, 1993, son of Pete Masterson and Nicole Emerson. Brandon was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Charles P. Masterson in 2000. Brandon graduated from Alvirne High School class of 2011 where he played on the football team for four years. He loved snowboarding, hunting, and automobiles. A Nashua native, Mrs. Hancock was born on May 11, 1936 daughter to late Eddy F. and Laurianne (Fortin) Labrie. Marie graduated Class of 1954 from the former St. Louis High School. She attended St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1957. Marie was an Operating Room Nurse for most of her 39 year career at Memorial Hospital now known as Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. She spent her last eight years working in Pediatrics.
