Nashua Police Investigate Shooting on Rochette Avenue

Police were searching for two suspects Thursday night.

Nashua Police Thursday night responded to a call for a shooting outside 6 Rochette Avenue.

Police confirmed that a man suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Lt. Denis Linehan said early Friday morning it does not appear to be a random shooting.

Just before 9 p.m. Jan. 9 police officers on foot with a police dog were searching an area near Chestnut and Lake streets. An ambulance followed by a squad car were seen heading east on Lake Street as several squad cars remained parked on Chestnut, which dead ends past Lovell Street.

A cruiser was parked outside a home on a Rochette Avenue, which was restricted with yellow police tape. Heavy police presence remained for several hours after the shooting, with squad cars circulating and officers on foot. 

The victim was transported to St. Joseph Hospital and a DHART helicopter was en route, with a plan to airlift the victim from Nashua Airport to Boston Medical Center.

As of Friday morning the victim was in  critical but stable condition, Linehan said. His name was not released.

According to Southern NH Emergency Alerts, the police had broadcast a description of possible suspects as follows:

"Two suspects fled in car. Car then dumped at Fields Grove. Driver is described as Tall male with dark clothing. Passenger described as tall Hispanic male, thin build, dark hoodie, dark shoes, silver handgun in right pocket." 

No arrest had been made as of Friday morning, and no further information was released.
