Personal info and interests outside of politics: Since retiring I have been a volunteer at the Nashua Senior Center for 6 years. I participate in the Nashua Goes Back To School Event. During my quiet time I do a lot of reading and spending time with my granddaughter.

Should you be elected, how will you connect with your constituents to learn more about issues they care most about?

I attend events within the ward both small and large and I meet with different neighborhoods when requested. I answer all phone calls and emails.

In your opinion, what are key issues affecting your Ward?

Although Ward 7 does not have any significant issues currently, the four main areas that I need to keep careful watch on are absentee landlords, ensuring neighborhood and residents feel safe and the police department is properly funded and staffed, the railroad tracks and the railroad company that run along the river, and any new development and how it may affect property owners and their neighborhoods.

Why are you running?

I have enjoyed my first term and wish to continue serving Ward 7 and to work hard for those who may need help with any city issue. I want to continue to ensure the city spends responsibly and my first priority is always the taxpayers of the city.

Why should voters choose you over your opponents (what uniquely qualifies you to represent the public)?

I have the good fortune not to have an opponent this year but I am running as if I do, because I certainly do not take anyone’s vote for granted. I believe I have served the resident’s of Ward 7 well and wish to continue with my efforts.

Feel free to include a summary statement or platform below if there are any other particular points you would like to relay to voters.

Since there is no race for Mayor or any controversial issues this year, voter turnout will most likely be very low. I would like to remind everyone that it is our civic right and responsibility to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 5th.

My concerns are the same as two years ago:

  • Give excellent constituent service to Ward 7 and work with the city when there is a need to help rectify any problem a constituent may have.
  • Continue to support responsible spending of tax dollars.
  • Work with various city departments to ensure the ward receives its fair share of public works improvements and our neighborhoods are safe.
