A resident of Nashua since 1988 and Ward 5, since 1990 when I married my wife Meg. My grown children include David, John & daughter-in-law Beth - and with John & Beth's recent family additions of Krissy and Ellie, (and one on the way), spending time with grandchildren has become a favorite activity.

I am employed by CSM Bakery Products as the Northeast Region Sales Manager. Originally from New Jersey, I moved to Minneapolis for college and began my career with a forerunner to CSM in 1975. By 1988 I was transferred to New England, and based on the publicity from the “Best Place to Live” article, chose to settle in Nashua. At this point I have lived here longer than anywhere else.

Since 2006, I have served as the Alderman from Ward 5. My duties and committee work have included:

  • Planning & Economic Development Committee – Chair

  • Joint Special School Building Committee – Chair, Clerk

  • JSSBC School Construction Projects Committee – Vice Chair

  • Pennichuck Special Water Committee – Member

  • Budget Review Committee – Vice-Chair

  • Human Affairs Committee – Member

  • Nashua Regional Planning Commission – Commissioner

  • Board of Fire Commissioners – Liaison

  • 14 Court Street Commission – Liaison

  • Downtown Advisory Committee – Liaison

  • City / Chamber of Commerce Branding Initiative – Advisory Panel Member

  • In addition to Committee and Liaison positions, I am also a past member of the Board of Directors for the Nashua Police Athletic League (PAL), and PAL Golf Classic. I am a current member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, sit on the Public Education Committee of the New England Water Environment Association, and I am a parishioner and lector at Immaculate Conception Parish.

Should you be elected, how will you connect with your constituents to learn more about issues they care most about?

In my eight years as the Ward 5 Alderman I am most proud of my record of constituent service. I take a very hands on approach and typically meet with the concerned stakeholders as often as necessary to address the various issues that come up. I am easily reached by phone, email, text, website, etc.

In your opinion, what are key issues affecting your Ward?

There are always issues around development and traffic, and I am actively working with neighborhoods & city departments for the most effective resolutions.

I am proud that we have been able to prevent commercialization of the West Hollis Street Corridor, and were ultimately successful in acquiring buffering lots near the entrance to the Landfill.

In the southwest Quadrant, a couple of critical land donations have allowed the city to place hundreds of acres under Conservation Easements to preserve much of this rural area for generations to come.

I am a long time supporter of the Nashua Dog Owners Group, who recently cut the ribbon to their state of the art facility at Yudicky fields.

Why should voters choose you over your opponents (what uniquely qualifies you to represent the public)?

Preserving Nashua’s Quality of Life / Assuring responsible future growth / Preventing regressive policy decisions.

I am committed to the idea that Nashua is and should remain one of the most desirable places to live.

This takes many forms, from locally addressing Ward 5 Constituent issues, to the variety of city wide roles that have evolved over the past eight years. Each involves work on issues and matters that span more than a single 2 year term, and I would like to assure that momentum in not interrupted.

I believe that the citizens and city of Nashua, benefit from my personal business experience. My career spans more than 35 years in the food industry, and I am able to draw on this background to address the many issues facing the city.

I also believe that at this point in my Aldermanic Career, I am at an extremely effective level, having forged the necessary long term relationships throughout City Hall and the community. My desire is to continue working on these and other important issues that have a direct impact on the quality of life in our great city.

Feel free to include a summary statement or platform below if there are any other particular points you would like to relay to voters.

To the residents of Ward 5 – I humbly ask for your vote on November 5th!
